How these reports are made

Every figure is sourced

Not a single number without its origin. If a datum cannot be verified against the primary source, it is labelled as such or left out. It is never filled in.

Evidence level on show

Each figure states whether it is official, academic, an own calculation on official data, a press-reported figure or a scenario. The reader always knows what they are reading.

Downloadable data

Every series can be downloaded as CSV from the dashboard, and the methodology explains how each derived indicator was built.

·2024 Economic Census data

The 2024 Economic Census asked, for the first time in the country's history, whether firms used artificial intelligence. 5,468,180 economic units answered: 2.1% of those already using digital tools do, below three-dimensional printing. The National AI Plan, published in April 2026, promises to strengthen the country's productive capacities and names no instrument to get there. The one that does exist, the Plan México incentive decree, splits 95% to buying machines and 5% to learning to use them.

On 22 May 2026 Mexico and the European Union signed a modernised trade agreement. By then 65.7% of the value Mexico sold to Europe already entered duty free with no agreement at all. Official Eurostat data, tariff line by tariff line, since 2002.
